Doughnuts and Walking

Hello World!

Not sure if these count as superhero deeds - you decide.

I walked with a dear friend of mine when I had already walked that morning. She wanted someone to walk with her. We only walked a mile and not fast at all (for those that know me, I walk fast - it is exercise). I love her dearly - she is my 2nd mom.

I bought doughnuts for the folks at my local bank. They are always so patient with me when I go in - I'm never prepared. I know, I know - a superhero is always prepared or is that the boyscouts...

Peace, Love, and Happiness.

And remember, it's not about you; it's about them.

Another Day Another Superhero Deed?

Can't get it out of my mind - it's not about you; it's about them.

Superhero deed -- My mom is in the hospital; she just had surgery. I spent a few hours with her this morning. She had to pee really badly. We called the nurse several times. I could have let her pee on herself because I really don't know how to help. But... it's not about me; it's about her. Therefore, I put on the purple gloves and helped her up and held the pink pan while she peed. Good deed - you decide. (what is it with me and pee? remember my beginning posts)

All is well in the world (I hope).

God Bless.

Rango - the movie. Who new that I could have received a message from this movie? Guess what the wise old armadillo said to Rango? Yep - "It's not about you; it's about them." Somebody trying to tell me something out there? (2nd message like this in 2 days see other post) Well, I'm listening.

Good deed for the day - took my daughters and Zach to see Rango at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta. It wasn't so much about the movie (or so I thought) but about the Fox. I hope they enjoyed it.

Remember, it's not about us - it's about everybody else.

Goodnight.

I know, I know

Yes, I said I was going to start back with my superhero ways, but I haven't posted anything. Well, I'm back....

While at the pool with my daughter today, I was speaking with an older gentleman who I have known for quite awhile. He's retired, but still working. He said something that really stuck with me -- It's not about us; it's about everybody else. This was preceded with a discussion about God and what He wants. This discussion took place at around 2:00 pm just out of the blue. I'm really quite amazed at how it happened. In our conversation at that moment, his last words to me were -- It's not about us; it's about everybody else. He then got up and walked away like there really was nothing left to say.

Therefore, as I pondered my life as a superhero, these words continued to come to mind. While checking out at a local store, I let 2 people go before me (I kinda felt like I broke in front of one of them so I had to let them go ahead). But, it is about everyone else and not me.

Thanks for listening. I hope your day is filled with superhero events.

God Bless you all for it is about you and Him.
